Counselling is a form of talk therapy.
What is councelling?
It is a process where an individual, couple or family meet with
a trained professional counsellor to talk about issues and
problems that they are facing in their lives.
Professional counselling is confidential and non-judgmental.
Professional counselors help clients identify goals and
potential solutions to problems which cause emotional
turmoil; seek to improve communication and coping skills;
strengthen self-esteem; and promote behavior change and
optimal mental health.
Types of counseling include:
Relationship and Marriage, Vocational and Career, Family Therapy, Trauma, Drug and Alcohol, Rehabilitation, Grief and Loss, Depression, Anxiety and Sex Therapy.
The following questions can also be helpful in determining if
you should seek counselling –
– Do I feel as if I am in crisis?
– Am I currently feeling distress?
– Am I having trouble dealing with certain emotions or my current situation?
– Do I need help to find or access the right services to assist me?
– Do I need a safe or confidential place to talk about my situation or feelings?
If you are answering ‘yes’ to the above questions or if you are in any doubt about whether you should attend counselling services, you are welcome to contact us.
